Using 18X5.5 w/reinf. plate and matte box
Sorry for the convoluted title but I'm not sure what else to call this. I just ordered the DM Accessories reinforcement plate for our EX-3. Part of our present pkg. includes a Chrosziel mattebox system designed for the EX1/3. I use it all the time with this camera and want to continue to do so. My question is this...Has anybody combined these pieces of hardware? Again, I would like to combine the Fujinon 18X5.5 with the Chrosziel Mattebox and the DM plate to provide extra strength. I do have some budget for additional kit to put it all together if necessary. Thanks to all in advance for your wealth of experience and your willingness to help.

I know Jeff at DM-Accessories was looking into a rail adapter piece that would mount to the bottom of that bracket. You may want to check with him about the status of that.

I am about to order the Fujinon 5.5x 18HD lens for the EX3 and I would be interested in what you think of the lens.
I have made a mounting plate for the camera that extends to the lenght of the camera and offers a stable base to attach longer lenses and mounting rails. I have a matt box and will mount it to the EX3 and I will ley you know how it goes. I will also post a link to the photos of the mount soon. Ian |

Ian,
I have been reluctant to use our 18X just because of the reinforcement issue. I do know however, that it exhibits much less Chromatic Aberration than the standard lens. A short amount of time in the studio was all that was needed to reveal that. I will post more findings in the days to come. Dave |
