Loose LCD Monitor and Camera Handle on EX1
My one year old EX1 now has started to loosen up near the front of the handle where the pivot joint for the LCD is. Has anyone else seen this happening? It is just out of warranty, though I noticed it right before the warranty was up. I was overseas shooting so I couldn't really do anything about it at the time and returned home after the warranty was up.
Any idea on what such a repair will cost? I looked for any screws that I could use to tighten it up, but can't find any. I am in the Sydney, Australia area right now and head out to the Outback to shoot Thursday night. Is there a Sony office where I can take the camera to have them tighten up the handle? I would need this done on an as I wait timeframe. Thanks, Daniel Weber |

You could try Macray Specialised Services in Artarmon, we get most of our Sony repair work done there.
http://www.macray.com.au/ Ask for Paul, tell him I referred you. Explain your situation and he might be able to effect repairs while you wait. |

Daniel,
I too have dealt with Macray's, and they are really good, but the EX1 experts for repair in Sydney are Definitech phone 9620 7588. The head technician there is Don. Hope this helps,

My EX1 had this problem - the LCD was very loose. It was fixed by Sony Pencoed - UK under warranty.
