The Thing II (teaser)
Sequel to John Carpenters, The Thing.
The Thing II, Mainland. Coming in about a month I guess. Still doing research on how to do all the gore effects. It should also have a bit of stop motion. YouTube - The Thing II (teaser) http://www.vimeo.com/2609319

Awesome first post... really bad how? Let's see anything from you Mr Spielberg. Wait wait, perfect chance to post another teaser... http://www.vimeo.com/3411881 just showing some more effects. So far the movie is going great, really excited. It is taking WAY more time than I thought though.

Hey guys our movie is finally done. Just a fan film but if you like John Carpenters The Thing this is probably about as close to a sequel as there will ever be... (sigh) runtime is about 34 minutes (sorry)
For the one guy that will actually watch a few of these...LOL thanks for watching! part 1 The Thing II (fanfilm) premiere (part 1 of 4) on Vimeo part 2 The Thing II (fanfilm part 2 of 4) on Vimeo part 3 The Thing II (fanfilm part 3 of 4) on Vimeo part 4 The Thing II (fanfilm part 4 of 4) on Vimeo making of special part 1 Creatures of the Thing II fanfilm (part 1 of 2) on Vimeo part 2 Creatures of the Thing II fanfilm (part 2 of 2) on Vimeo out takes and tests The Thing II fanfilm (out takes) on Vimeo Audio commentary...LOL part 1 YouTube - 1 Audio Commentary The Thing II fanfilm (1 of 4) part 2 YouTube - 2 Audio Commentary The Thing II fanfilm (2 of 4) part 3 YouTube - 3 Audio Commentary The Thing II fanfilm (3 of 4) part 4 YouTube - 4 Audio Commentary The Thing II fanfilm (4 of 4) I'll fill in some ideas of what we were wanted from this movie. I didn't want to just do a remake of John Carpenters Thing as we have seen that before like the Lego, GI joe version, and the comedy Thing Sweded (on youtube). But we also understood there would be no way we could do something on the scoop we wanted without using all the sound effects and so forth from the first movie. I didn't want some small story about one encounter, I wanted to see the end of the world. Thinking of this as a tribute/sequel is the best way enjoy it. Ripping from the first movie was entirely planned and on purpose, but in the setting of a sequel. As for the acting, we had no actors, these were guys I grabbed as they were walking out the door and I asked them if they wanted to be in a movie...LOL Oh and one last thing, as fans of the original some of you really enjoyed the guessing game of who is the Thing. I did enjoy that too but in a fanfilm that is not a full length movie, there is limited time to set that up. I could do one of two things. Make a smaller story and do the guessing game, or go nuts and just skip to the monsters and the end of the world. Choosing the bigger idea was deliberate. The reason is because more than likely we will never see that. We will almost certainly see small stories that include the who goes there mystery, but to see the Thingpocalypse as one person put it... there is an idea that I bet only we will actually tackle. For that I am very proud of what we did. Hope fans of the original movie enjoy this as much as we did making it.
