Converting mov files to file for Premiere 2.
We have footage shot on the EX1 and converted to MOV files (the original files were erased). Is there a way to convert them to files that Premiere 2 will recognize without having to recompress them?

Try QuickTime Pro and Export your MOVie files as an AVI and selected None for compression.

I did that and the file went from 63MB to 1.5GB. Then I tried converting it to a DV file and it came out 45MB. I just sent the smaller file to my client and we'll see how it goes. Thanks.

Can't Premiere handle a Quicktime MOV? It used to back when I used Premiere 6.5.

Premiere Pro CS3 does import MOVie files and these can be then rendered out as AVI. WuickTime Pro will do this without having to create a new timeline etc.
If memory serves me right I think the Premiere 2 also supports MOVie files. |
