Busted file
I downloaded three cards through Sony's clip browser successfully. Now two of the three clips are fine but one seems to be in pieces. I do not have a clue what I did but I did it extremely well. My Edius time line will not accept any of the pieces of the file.........so how do I put the file back together?

I've got to ask a really basic question first - did you try using XDCAM Transfer to lift the file off the SxS card? When that shot is selected, does it have various 'parts' in the info window?
What I'm getting at here is if the shot you're trying to extract is actually quite a long one in duration? Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree (or barking mad) but if some edit systems use the native recording format, then I'm not sure how it would glue the files referenced by the .smi back together after being spilt by the recording format. Just guessing...

I don't know how edius works, but there is a 4Gb file size limit due to the FAT file system used by the SxS cards. This means that long clips get split in to chunks. Try opening the clip with the Sony Clip browser then saving it to a new location on your hard drive.
