Hello Arild,

It´s great to hear that your EX-3 works just fine. But version 1.04? Has Sony released yet another version? I thought ver 1.03 was the last version available?

Local talk: Fikk du oppdatert hos Video 4? jeg har prøvd å få kontakt med Video 4, men har fortsatt ikke fått respons. Det er veldig bra at EX-3´n funker bra nå :-)

Best,
-terje

Terje you should check out this thread below...

Newest Firmware Version EX3? - The Digital Video Information Network

The difference between version 1.03 and 1.04 appears to be minor.

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for the info. I haven´t gotten around to update my EX-3 yet. I bought my EX-3 in New York. I need to find a way to update my camera here in Norway, even if I have to pay for it. I had a lot of trouble with the focus issue on my last job. I´m happy to hear the issue can be solved :-)

Best,
-terje

As reported early on in this thread I'd only really seen this loss of focus issue on my late July 2008 EX3 on one occassion.

Well, I was doing a corporate shoot in a hot lab yesterday with a lot of macro shots/close ups of lab work over many hours and sure enough I could not get the camera to focus once I'd switched macro off (without re-booting, then it was fine). Looks like I'll have to find a quiet slot in my schedule and get the camera to Sony UK for the latest firmware fix after all - up until now this has been a very rare problem for me - but it's now on my 'to do' list to get sorted.

Anyone know if they'll do it in a day at Sony UK (if I pre-book) - whilst I go off for a few hours? I don't really fancy trying to get it into that "origarmi puzzle of a box" and sending it by courier/being without it any longer than that.
