EX1 Auto Focus Question
Is the EX1 adjusting the Auto Focus based on what's only in the small rectangular in the middle of the image? Can that rectangular be adjusted?

Yes, pretty much... You can't select your AF points like in your fav. DSLR.

This is one reason the auto focus on the EX1 can't be relied upon for critical focusing... often I find it locking onto something behind the subject, and even if the subject is in the middle for some reason it seems to sometimes wander back to a background object. But the more I get comfortable with manual focus, the more I prefer it anyway. I haven't done the firmware upgrade yet... I've read from some folks that it also includes an improvement in the auto focus.
