EX3 and 60p???
If i shoot on my EX3 @ 1280 x 720 60p - what project settings in Vegas 8 do i use?
The only setting that comes close is hdv 720 30p in new project settings. There is a double ntsc rate selection that i can use in this setting - is this what i need to use? |

In vegas you can make your own template for project preferences.
Drag the clip onto the timeline, right click on the clip on the video track (not audio), this will give you the project properties, you can then make a project preferences template to match, when done, name and save that template. Paul.

Jay,
You can always hit the 'match media settings' button. Hit project properties and on the upper right hand corner hit the button that looks like a folder. Browse to your clip and it should auto-fill everything for ya. Anyway, My settings would look like this. 1280x720, 59.940 fps Field Order NONE 1.0 square pixel ratio. Frame Rate 59.940 (Double NTSC) Hey let me know if your audio sounds fine when you drag it on the timeline in vegas. I've found that 720/60p causes audio problems with mxf and vegas on my end. |

Your settings are the exact settings i tried in vegas pro 8. I too had audio problems and thought i must of did something wrong. |

It's a bug in either the clip browser or vegas in the way that it handles 720/60p. A temporary solution is to download the trial to neo hd (CineForm Home Page) and convert all the mxf files to avi. I just did a week shoot in San Jose and ended up with 40 interviews with that audio problem. Shooting 1080/30p from now on anyway.
