EX3 settings for wildlife photography?
Hi all,
I have recently got my EX3 which I am going to use for wildlife photography. I live in a PAL country (Australia) but I am hoping to be able to sell my footage internationally for broadcast. I realise how crucial it is to get it right when it comes to camera settings. Please can you let me know what should be my best choice and why? The camera lets me choose between (PAL) 1080/25P or 720/50P (NTSC) 1080/30P or 1080/24P or 720/60P Thanks in advance! Ofer Levy Ofer Levy Nature Photographer |

Be interested to hear how you get on and how it compares to your previous camera (Canon wasn't it?)
Unfortunately the BBC hasn't done settings for the EX series as they weren't that keen on them. When I tried an EX1 I went through the BBC settings for the HDW750 and tried to replicate them on the EX. This meant Cine gamma, lowering the detail etc. and I ended up with what I expected which was a flat-looking picture that had detail in shadows and highlights. Then it's just a question of manipulating it in post. Obviously any setups that folks have used on the EX1 will work, so a search for them would be worthwhile, there's reams of discussion on EX1 setup files. Best of luck, enjoy! Steve |
