Have the talents of the component output sockets area design team been used again for the "hinged cover" that broke off straight away on my EX1?

I think they were "re-assigned" to do the SxS slot door on the EX3! This looks a bit fragile to me - definitely will need to be handled carefully I think.

Sure, the whole camera does not have the rugged build quality of say a PD150 but seems no less rugged than a EX1, I was just hoping it might have been more rugged!

Regarding the debate on mic holder (see another thread), I think it's exactly the same as the EX1 - but I don't have my mate's EX1 in front of me right now. He's coming round tomorrow to look at the new kid on the block and will no doubt confirm if it's the same fragile fitting!

The EX-3 door seems to have a bit more play to it. I suspect that's to allow for the cable from the PUK-60. It must be raised slightly and then swung open. I can easily see someone just pulling at it and breaking it.

As I said, mike holder is identical.
