Edit XDCAM EX fotage with MacMini or iMac 20?
Hello, my brother want edit XDCAM EX footage.
He have a 24 inch samsung WUXGA monitor (1920x1200) I have two solution for this, i must know how it works. Solution A: Use WUXGA monitor with a Apple MacMini (1.83GHz, 1 GBRam, 80GB HDD), Is the Power of the CPU and GPU enough? Solution B: Use WUXGA monitor as a Prewiew monitor (at 1920x1080) with the Apple iMac (20inch monitor, 2.8GHz 2GB ram 500GB HDD), but works this solution smoothley? Is the Power of the CPU and GPU enough? Thanks a Lot |

If you're editing, I'd go for the one with the GPU (mandatory for motion). And you can't beat RAM for having FCP, Motion and SoundTrack Pro open.
The Mac Mini may do it in theory, but your brother will enjoy the iMac experience more. If you want to use Motion for anything, then the iMac is the only choice between the two.
