Anyone using Encore for Flash
I have made a DVD for a client and they want Flash video for their site. I have heard the Adobe Encore will allow you to build a DVD and then give you the choice of outputting the project in Flash.
Been working with it, Shot on XDCAM EX 1280x720 30P, edited my piece on FCP, output to quicktime, self contained file, imported to Encore. Most things work well, but when doing the final output to Flash, the Encore transcoder crashes. I think it is the XDCAM EX codec within Quicktime that is not working. Has anyone tried this? Can someone suggest a good intermediary file format? |

If you're on a Mac, get Visual Hub: http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/ Best $23 you'll spend this week. It lets you convert to SWF or FLV, then you can use this free tool to create the embed code: http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?page=wizard
I actually like the previous version (3.16) of the player better--lets you easily customize the player colors. That can be downloaded here: http://webscripts.softpedia.com/scri...yer-41172.html Host the player on your site, just adjust the code in the setup wizard. Works great! Much better than Encore--I have that for Blu-ray, but don't like the quality of the Flash at all. That's just for straight video though--if you're doing something interactive, it might be worth exploring. |
