lenshood+eyepiece ordering site a hoax?
Hi
yesterday a thread with a lenshood/eyepiece combination buying site appeared. Was this a hoax, or why has this thread completely vanished? Regards Holger |

http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=124524 I posted it yesterday or so. It's not an item for sale, but a home-built rig I made with a commercially available screen hood and a long-discontinued eyepiece I happened to have lying around. |

No that wasn't it.
There was a post describing a hood with a mounted eyepiece which was available for sale from some US web site. I can't find the post now either. |

Yes I saw that post. It was NOT the rather nice looking hood linked above.
The hood on the vanished post (which was clearly just an very bad advert - it was the persons 1st post as well) looked so terrible that I assumed it was either a hoax or a scam to extract $50 from unwitting EX1 owners stateside. I can't think why anyone would want to attach such a bad looking hood to their lovely cam!...but there's no accounting for everyone's taste! The hood above by Michael looks sooooooo much better than the other one!!!!

I'd say it was removed because it was basically just an advertisement. |

Yes... I saw the post too in my RSS feed but when I clicked through, it had been removed. Presumably the mods felt it was inappropriate for the forum.
I did go to the website and to be honest, it looked a bit shady. As an aside - after using Google Reader for the past year or so to view RSS items, it's amazing how many things get removed or reposted for various reasons. The RSS feeds seem to catch everything. SG |

for you Firefox users (hopefully everyone soon!), a great plug-in is Mcafee Site Advisor. Allows users to give feedback on websites, and it is completely free!
