I can't swear that it's a "new" lens, George. Those photos of your lens are horrendous! Be sure to add them to whatever correspondence you have with Sony/B&H. I had to do the same thing with the floating pieces of crud that were inside my lens just so I could show Sony where they were. Your issue is a lot easier to show. Good luck.
