Pardon my ignorance but I suddenly realised I do not understand the diff between 60fps and 25P! I thought that there are 25 progressive refreshes on the screen per second, so how does this 60fps come in? Does it mean that 60 frames are captured per second progressively, and played back at 25fps progressively?

Yes Sean, exactly that. So if you capture 60 frames in a second and play them back at 25 frames every seconds those 60 frames will take 2.5 seconds or so to play back - hence slow motion!
