Clip Browser 8GB Split results in file larger than DL-DVD Capacity
Clip Browser 8GB Split results in file larger than DL-DVD Capacity. On Mac I use Sony Clip Browser Split function (ironically they use disc icons for that function) to split 16GB cards into 8GB to fit on DL-DVD (+R) for archival.
DL-DVD which are 8.5GB capacity are actually 7.95GB capacity. Clip Browser often makes splits that are between 7.95GB and 8GB resulting in having to span a disc (I'm using Toast 8 BTW). I can imagine this would get quite expensive if one were archiving to Blu-ray. Has anybody else noticed this? |

Duh The FIX.
In an experiment I typed in 7.9 manually and . . . it seems to have worked. It'll split at 7.9GB which will fit on 8.5GB DL-DVD which actually only holds 7.95GB. Why did I not think I could change the 8GB default in Clip Browser manually? Keep in mind that 16GB card actually only holds about 14.9GB so splitting cards should work as it'll simply move one more clip to the second folder it creates. |
