EX1's LCD flicker?
Sorry for creating a new thread; (might be due to my being p***d off by the EX3's VF revelations), but anyway:
So far, in the Northern hemisphere, we've been using out EX1's in low Sun. Now, with all the glory of spring, I've noticed that when used in bright sunshine, my LCD flickers heavily... Tried it with various settings (recording modes and shutter speeds) - no matter what, it flickers. Just as if I watched my 100 Hz refresh rate capable plasma, in the 50 Hz mode. Anyone noticed this?

Not at all. What recording mode are you in?

As I said - whatever mode.
However, I have now my Letus Extreme attached. I tried to turn the spinning GG on and off; no difference (I thought perhaps some interference was showing off). I'll report later when I detach the Letus.

I sent my camera in to Sony service, but I recall seeing the flickering while viewing the LCD outside in good old Arizona sunlight.

That's my point; in shade (or indoors), I can't see the flicker.

Yes, mine is too. Noticed it for the first time earlier today.

Mine does it as well in bright sunlight.
I will install a hoodman - this should solve the problem. Have you tried switching of the backlight when the flicker appears? I haven´t, but will try that next time it appears. |
