Pulsating Zooms
I'm shooting 1920x1080x24p with a 1/48th shutter. On all my zooms (done at moderated speed in bright light) I am getting a "pulsating" effect. Why is this and what is the cure? The zoom speed is smooth and consistent it is the light intensity that pulsates.
Should I be using a faster shutter for pans and zooms? |

Do you notice only a pulsating of brightness - or of focus as well?
Does this ocuur only in progressive mode and when auto focus is switched on?

Steven, I don't own a EX1 yet.
But the Canon A1 shows focus pulsing when zooming with AF switched on, especially in progressive mode.

Quote:
With a closer look it is A) A lateral fast shaking - back and forth. No change in brightness or focus B) It only happens at the left and right 1/3rd of the image. The center third is still and normal. As I described the problem wrong originally let me start a new thread and forget this one. Last edited by Michael H. Stevens; April 8th, 2008 at 09:54 PM. |
