back focus repaired
I just got my camera back from Sony with the new firmware upgrade v1.05 and my backfocus is now correct.
By the way I had tried using the engineering menus backfocus adjustment both with and without ND previously and it did not fix my problem. To read about the original problem go to this thread. http://dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=117307 This is issue is major (though I don't know how widespread) and should probably be a recall. It should at least be a sticky on this forum just like the vignetting issue. Who's in charge of that? Lenny Levy |

That's excellent news, Leonard. It'll give the rest of us hope that the issue just requires a firmware upgrade.

I hope so, too.
Is there a user out there with the v1.05 firmware-upgrade but still experiences backfocus problems?

Very good news indeed, I just sent mine back. Firmware version was 1.02.
Where did you send it and what was the turnaround like? I sent mine to San Jose and I've been told 10 business days which seems a bit excessive. |
