EX1 footage in After Effects, Gamma changes when rendering?
Hi!
I am doing post production on footage shoot on EX1. Footage Converted to .mov files with XDCAM Transfer. In After Effects the footage look correct when I am working with it, but as soon as I hit render or make a RAM preview the Image turn darker, like a change in gamma. The strange thing is that it is not happening in all frames. In a render sequence there pops up bright frames randomly. Look at the attached images, the bright one is how it looks when working in AE, the dark one after rendering. Could it be an automatic compensation for YUV 16-235? Have anyone else come across this? I'm on a Mac with Tiger and AE CS3. Thnax for your time // tobias |

Problem solved
Ok. I found the answer myself :-)
You have to turn OFF Multiprocessing in AE preferences. Strange, guess the codec isn't optimzed for multiple Cpu's. It explains the randomness, but why should different cores produce changes in color? |
