Clip copier MacOSX 10.4 and a 1.5Gz PPC powerbook query??
Hi, I have just bought an EX-1 (love it) and though I want to edit on FCP on an imac running Mac OSX 10.5 I was hoping to use my old powerbook (12" PPC 1.5Ghz) to copy the clips off the express cards when I'm out and about. However my mac is running OS 10.3.9 so I can't load the software. Does anyone know if I buy an upgrade and load 10.4 onto this machine whether the clip copying software will work - or not? The recommended specs for this are way high in the bumph (2gz intel processor etc) though this seems extreme just to copy clips. I have spoke to Sony who were about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. Any ideas anybody?

MacOS 10.5 (Leopard) will run on your G4 Powerbook. It doesn't have an ExpressCard slot, so you'll be confined to using USB.
Apple Mac OS 10.5 requirements: Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor, 512MB RAM, DVD drive for install. George/ Last edited by George Kroonder; February 14th, 2008 at 04:37 PM. |
