EX1 720 60p file playing problems
I Set the camera to HQ 720/60p. Shoot hand held trees blowing about in a strong wind so lots of movement. Download from the SxS card into my M90 Dell Mobile workstation core 2 duo.
The MP4 file plays just fine using VCL player but when I try to play using Sony XDCAM viewer I’m informed ‘the operation has failed’ and indeed it will not play. So I load the XDCAM EX Clip Browsing Software and import the MP4 file. It plays no problem in the software. I export as an mxf which also will not play using the Sony XDCAM viewer. I’m told ‘directshow does not have the correct filters to play this file’. It plays using VLC player. No problem playing 1080 30p with the Sony XDCAM viewer. Anyone know what the problem is? I have the latest version of Directx installed. Is the Sony XDCAM viewer not built to handle HQ 720/60p files off the EX1? Using v 2.01. |

This sounds like a codec problem. Have you tried reinstalling the software?

Thanks George, my thoughts too and so I downloaded the latest version of the viewer software but that didn’t help. I also downloaded the latest directx software and that didn’t help either.
Any other suggestions? |
