A couple more clips

Just a couple of things I've played around with this week.

"Black Water" uses a lot of pans which vimeo seems to struggle with a bit, at least on my system. If you're registered at vimeo you can download the source files which look a lot nicer.

Thanks Paul.
I really enjoyed watching these.
I'm currently downloading "Black Water" 100MB file.
Just watched it, very nice man... love the warm colors...
Man, it makes me wish I did not live in the land of where nothing grows, Arizona.

Nice images. I downloaded the .mov and played it full screen. The colors hold up nicely but there is some blockiness and the image stutters when panned. Did you shoot 24P? Is that what causes judder and stutter? Has the original file been compressed?

I have a G4 Quicksilver so maybe the processor can't keep up with the frame rate.

John, this is a compressed version, the bit rate was only 1.5Mb/s. It actually looks better than I would of expected.
The macroblocking is due to the low bit rate.

I'm not seeing the stutter. It may be your computer.

Thanks John. Running full screen will definitely cause more stuttering, and make it look worse. Try viewing it as actual size (100%). There is some stuttering (strobing) in the pans though, I think I just need to pan a little slower.

regards

Paul.
