Monitor instability-flashing on mode change

When I make a screen transition, such as going from regular shooting mode to Expanded made and back the monitor flashed, gets unstable with maybe a horizontal white line while it changes. Does the same thing on start up. Normal? Anyone else seen this?

It's normal. All EX cameras do it.

I've seen this green flashing/unstable screen on mode changes on a friends new EX1 as well. It has been commented on before on this Forum somewhere that it would have been better for Sony to have flashed up a solid blue screen (or something) for a second or so during changes to make it look a little bit more professional.....Maybe this will come with firmware upgrade?

From what I've read, this is a common occurance (although Paul seems to be a bit luckier than most, anyone else?)

Hi
it also happened on the DVD "Mastering the PMW-EX1" from Vortex.
So I guess it's "okay" - not nice, but norma.
