What's Your Serial Number?
Got my EX! from B&H today. Surprised at how low the serial number was. I think all US numbers start from 100000 and mine was 100133. What's yours?

Order delay time?
How long between placing your order and getting your shipment? I'm thinking of placing an order with B&H now to take advantage of the 8GB card offer, but concerned that it would be delivered after the offer expires....!

I ordered three (3) working days ago - Wednesday, BUT I noticed after I ordered the website said they were out of stock. Send them an email if they say they have none.

Michael and Jim -
I too ordered mine (over the weekend) and when I submitted it said that it was in stock. Once the order went through though, it said it was backordered. I think what happened (and was inferred by the customer service rep I talked to) was that when they opened up for business after the weekend they had all these EX1 orders queued up from the weekend and not enough cams to distribute. I then got an email from BH today saying that they were back in stock...but...when I checked my order now, the only thing with a tracking number is my extra card :(. Turns out mine was held up for verification. I had to call in to verify that it was in fact me who was getting the cam and not someone who was pretending to be me. Only problem was that I didn't know that I needed to do that...I just called about the backorder issue and was told "oh, I see that your order is being held in our verification department." I wander when I would have found that out if I hadn't called about the backorder??? So you might want to call about that too... I was hoping that it would all ship today, but no dice...but it does sound like it's in stock. I'm hoping that I'll have mine by the weekend.

Batch number
How can you figure out which batch is which. I'm looking to purchase the EX-1 but from all the vignetting and backfocus issues I am hearign about I think I might hold off till mid March to hopefully get rid of the old batch and maybe if SOny is wise enough they could have started sending out a better performing batch into the market. I would wait till June But I still want to meet the deadline for teh second free 8 gig card. What do you guys think?

Note UK numbers start from 400,000 where as US numbers start from 1,000,000.

My US serial starts with 100,000.
It's 100122, a "vignetter" by the way. |

I got mine on Dec 20 and the serial number is 100808. The dealer allowed me to look through his delivery batch and pick the highest serial number. It does not exhibit the "hard corner" vignetting issue which I did see in the dealer's first 2 cameras (1 demo, 1 rental) he got a month earlier.

MY ERROR. A mistype. US serial numbers start with 100,000 NOT a million. Mine is very low at 100133, in fact just 11 more than Eric's. Does it vignette? Not really had a close look yet.

Mine's also set to ship from B&H today. I'll post Serial# as soon as it gets in.
Thanks
