Nice shots, bit weird with the blood running down her leg like that, but I'm sure that's a language barrier thing.

Wasn't sure if it was a coming of age thing to begin with!

yes she is. Ill include the lyrics for you:

End of the World

With the Aurora I cycle along the forests edge
a curving path leads to the shore
like a damsel from a fairytale, I lay down in the hay and enjoy myself
I pick a dried violet from the bank, I lay down my basket
the hot wind plays with my hair like the lover I just left

there are no sounds behind the forest, the sea is completely still
I feel peace in my chest, I see everything flash in to the
flames of the beginning of the annihilation
on my face I feel the burning atmosphere,
I hear the screams of death carried from the fringes of the bay
I can smell the horror, taste the fear and blood on my tongue

at last the end of the world came, the shell of the earth too generous melt
the firewalls of destruction burn away all that’s useless with their kelvins
prayers of the suffering, ash, shrieks

flames bury the begging, the end of the world came at last,
humanity drowned in a stream of lava
on my bicycle, I cycle next to the boiling sea,
dead fish wash in to the shore

I ring the bell as a thank you for sweeping away all that’s useless
I see a power plant collapse in the horizon, people fall with their prayers
I see a storm of flames in the skyline get carried away into a final wave of destruction
this long awaited excursion shall be the final, I leave behind a smile most gentle
once more I smell the violet and taste a cherry from my basket

at last the end of the world came, the shell of the earth too generous melt
the firewalls of destruction burn away all that’s useless with their kelvins
prayers of the suffering, ash, shrieks
flames bury the begging, the end of the world came at last,
humanity drowned in a stream of lava

Hi,

Very cool, interesting song video. Would it be possible to get some more information about the lenses & post some uncompressed stills?

Thx!

Hey sami, your footage is beautiful. Very nice work. Can you tell us a little bit about your experience with the EX1 and LEX. Did you have trouble with edge to edge sharpness? Which lenses were you using? Anything you can pass on to those of us who could be potential EX1/LEX users in the future?

Thanks!

I absolutely love the combo. The two weeks I've had the EX1 I have only taken the LEX off to do a few tests and put the LEX back on because the depth of field is just so much better looking. And the bokeh and the colors... I cant imagine a shoot when I wont use the LEX. EX1 on its own doesn't do it for me. I'm after filmic look and all the footage I've seen shot with only the EX1 does not have the dof and organic look I'm after.

I'm using Canon FD 20mm f2.8, 24mm f2, 35mm f2, 50mm 1.4, 100mm 2.8 and 135mm f2 lenses. Im zoomed in to about z80 with all of them but some lenses can handle z73. I have to do more tests for each lens. Lenses do make the image very very slightly softer that the image is with the EX1 and no adapter. The sharpness I get with most Canon FD lenses is like -10 detail setting on the camera. This is just a guess and not based on any tests. Ive read here that some EX1 users that do not have the LEX use -20 detail to get it to look more organic.

So far Ive only shot with 720p because that is plenty of resolution for these type jobs. I wonder if there is any other advantage in 1080 other than resolution?

The edge to edge sharpness is not an issue to me. In normal use I never notice that it's not absolutely sharp on the edges. If I shoot my computer screen for example with text on it I can see it. Although with some tweaking you can get it pretty sharp from edge to edge. Only about 5-7% of each side is very very slightly out of focus. Use this method given by Letus: http://www.letusdirect.com/images/mi...focus-help.jpg
Letus are also building an add-on that is supposed to rid of this problem totally.

What else... We had two 800W redheads to light this. We spent total of 12 hours doing the shoot and the budget was 65 euros. 50 euros to feed the crew and 15 euros for the blood and the sheets :)

Sami

PS. I dunno if the stills are full quality, I used Vegas "save snapshot to file" from the timeline.
