If one did not intend to add sharpening in post, and wanted the best out of the box, would you recommend Detail OFF, then? That's what it sounds like, but rarely tweak the sharpening in post so I am not sure.

Steve with your detail 0 setting in the example was Frequency left at 0 also?
I have had some good luck with Detail level at -15 and Frequency at +5, in HiSAT, +25 , Cine3 or Cine4. |

I will receive my EX1 on wednesday next week and will do some testing.
But from what I've seen so far I would say that footage with Detail=off looks more organic and less artificial/electronic. So I think I won't shoot with Detail on because it's not difficult to add some crispiness but nearly impossible to remove the artificial look. ;) regards Dennis |
