Shutter speed help
Hi,
Wish to use my ex1 for shooting surfing - am from uk - PAL. Used my v1u in 1080i with shutter speed of 1/50th and results good. Was thinking of using ex1 in 1080i or 720p but can only choose 1/60th no 1/50th? Confused. As far as new was best to keep shutter speed in ratio with 50hz (PAL tvs) I dont have a great deal of knowledge (obviously!) but really liked the idea of shooting 720p (from another thread). thanks |

Hi Brendan.
Firstly make sure you have selected PAL modes and not NTSC modes in the menu. Once that's done you can select shutter 50 (when shooting 25p). If you are shooting at 50i and want shutter at 50 you you have to turn the shutter off instead (which does the same thing). regards Paul. |

thanks. i checked i was on PAL - first thing i thought of! :)
ok so i choose 720/50p and have shutter off and effectively get a shutter of 1/50th? if so i can then set the shutter to 1/100th (better for slow mo) and use the shutter on/off switch as my shutter speed switch... nice! |
