Problems importing clips in FCP
Hi,
Having problems importing into FCP, I'm getting the following error: File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. I have version 6.0.2 of FCP, I've installed the SxS Device Driver Software and the XDCAM EX Clip Browser and I'm running Leopard 10.5.1 The properties of the clip according to XDCAM EX Clip Browser are as follows: MPEG2 HD35 1280 720 MP@HL 25p. I go into FCP create a new project and choose the XDCAM EX 720p25 VBR under Easy Setup, try to import the .MP4 clip and I get the above error. Thanks in advance for your help. Simon |

Simon,
You will need to update the clip browser software to the version released last week. The version packaged with the camera gives the error you mention. The address has been given in a previous post - or you can google it.

Simon,
Its not the file browser which has to be updated but the Transfer software: http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/view/ShowC...site=biz_en_GB I had the same problem simply because I forgot to do this important update. |

Hey There Simon,
I just noticed we're neighbors which is pretty cool; I was wondering how the EX is working out for you and what kind of work you do? Unless I'm mistaken you're shooting in PAL so I guess your final destination for this footage is overseas. It would be great to get your impressions of the camera and find out if we work in similar circles. Thanks Mark |
