SxS driver under Vista
The SxS Driver installs under Vista and it knows its installed, and re-installing it offers to uninstall it, but when I plug in the USB port of the camera, it never finds the driver and I can't access the camera.
Anyone else have success with this? How did you get it to recognize it? |

When I went to an EX demo, I took my own laptop (Vista) along to see if I could transfer clips from cam to PC with no extra software installed on my PC and it worked straight away. As soon as I plugged the cam in, the PC installed drivers, then I saw two more drives, then I just transfered files to my documents > my videos.

ok its a hot fix
I found it, only because something else I was doing needed a hot fix for the driver install process. There is a bug in Vista (whats new), that prevents it from sometimes looking at pre-installed drivers when a device is plugged in. The hot fix is:
Windows6.0-KB940199-x86.msu And that makes it find the installed sony drivers and all works now. |
