HVR-V1 suitable "b" camera for EX1?

I own a V1 and am very serously considering picking up the new EX1.

Will the V1 make a suitable "b" cam for the EX1?

Can the images from these cameras be tweaked/corrected to look similiar to one another, or will the finished product look like a mess of different quality images?

I know the EX1 is much more powerful, higher resolution, larger chips, etc...

What do you think?

I'm waiting to get my hands on an EX1 and when I do I'll be putting it up against my V1U to answer that very question for myself. I suspect my V1 will be a natural B-cam for the EX1. I've got a DVD project coming up in February and it should be here by then.

I shot a documentary on the homeless in Austin Texas using a V1U AND A XDCAM EX
Last month. When I got to the shelter the minister was setting up the PA system and the keyboard upon plugging the keyboard into the outlet a big puff of smoke came out of the keyboard. I am glad I did plug my EX into the outlet. I was planning on doing some Chroma key but I had no way to power my Video Lights. So I set up the green screen and shot with available light the EX preformed extremely well in the dimly lit shelter the V1U footage hade more gain but the colors match very well with the EX. I don’t think I will have much color correction to do in post. I am planning on getting a Z7 and using it as my B cam.
