lens hood and filters

I've understood that 77mm filters can be attached to EX1? How the lens hood attaches to EX1? Can lens hood be attached if I've attached filter on the the lens? Can multiple filters be screwed in same time, like polarizer and ND or does this mean I have to remove lens hood totally?

I'm trying to avoid needing to spend money on matte box and it would also be great help if I could actually use same filters with EX1 than i use with my Canon 24-105L which takes 77mm filters.

Tuomas,

Yes, just like on the Z1U you can attach a filter to the lens on the EX-1 and still have a fully functioning lens hood/cap attached. You just have to remove the lens hood/cap 1st to attach the filters, and then remount.

How many 77mm filters can you put over the EX lens without getting vignetting?
On the HVX it was a whopping 3 filters but i'm not expecting that with a smaller filter and a larger chip.

I recently recieved a phone call from someone who owns an EX1 and they said that a standard ring UV filter would not actually fit into the EX1 at all with the hood attached. We sold him one of our slim line filters and it worked fine. The first filter he tried was from company T which is known for having very large rings on thier filters. Our B+W UV filters with a standard ring are 2mm thinner to begin with. Our standard ring is approximately 5mm and our slim ring is 3.3mm. Linked below.
