XDCAM EX and FCP questions
I have been shooting and editing HDV for the past 2 years with a Z1.
The EX looks like a great upgrade to my 2.5 years old Z1. I use FCP to edit and I have a question for anyone who has been editing XDCAM HD footage. If I use the EX to shoot at the 25mbs setting can I intercut it with HDV footage in FCP? This is a big deal for me since I have hundreds of hours of footage from the Z1 that I use in my productions and need to have access to with the new footage I will shoot with the EX. Thanks, Dan Weber |

Yes you most definately should be able to do that as far as I know, at least in the new final cut anyway - however your EX footage will look markedly better than that of the Z1...

Tyson,
thanks for your response. Yeah I am sure there will be a big difference in the images from the Z1 to the EX, though when shooting at 25mbs it won't be as drastic as if I shot 35 mbs. Eventually I will move to shooting at 35mbs. Dan Weber |
