ND Filter
Hi Everyone,
Is there any way to shut off the indicator for need of ND1 or ND2 filter (spots on the frame)? It ruins exterior panning shots going from dark to light areas. Thanks. Walter Ungerer Montpelier, VT |

I'm afraid I don't understand. The message appears in the viewfinder, not in the video.

Mike,
Thanks for your reply. To clarify what I meant, the text informatioin indicating ND1 or ND2 should be used, does not appear on the video; but the multiple small transparent dots (also indicators a neutral density filter is needed) appear in the finder and are recorded on the videotape. Wow. Not that I can remember on my camera. I'll look this afternoon if I can remember.

It's certainly nothing to do with the in-built ND filter Walter. I wonder if you're seeing flare spots or something like that. Are you using a wide-angle converter? Do you use a lens hood at all times?

Whaaaaaaaaaa?
This shouldn't happen. Perhaps you are seeing flares or something like Tom suggests? What exposure mode are you shooting in? If you are seeing the "ND1" or "ND2" indicator pop up, that is a red flag that you should be doing something different with your exposure. Please clarify what you are seeing and when it occurs and for how long. - don

He's probably seeing Ghost Images. Are they hexagonal in shape?
