Is my door loose?
I recently had my PD-150 repaired (it wasn't recognizing tapes, now it works great), but I'm not sure the tape door is proper. It shuts and it works, but it's got a little less than a centimeter of travel when you press on it when it's closed. I haven't used it in a long time so I can't recall if it had this much play in it before, and it doesn't feel very solid like my new Z1 does.
Is everyone's door a little loose or am I perhaps missing some washers or something? |

Yes, the VX/PD door was never designed to be a 'snap shut with a click' type of door. Of course the cassette mechanism closes like this, but the cosmetic plastic outer (with the date stamp of when your camera was built inside it BTW) was always isolated from the cassette cage so as to damp out vibration. I don't think you have anything to fear.

Elliot: if you don't mind my asking, but how much did the repair cost you?
