PD 170 transcoder????
Hi Folks
Is there a way to hook up the pd170 to a computer via firewire and a vhs recorder via the composite output to record onto vhs from the computer using premier pro. Hope this makes sense. Thx Paul |

Sure, it should really just be "plug and play." You would use the same setup as you would when monitoring over firewire, just plug in the VCR in its place using composite cables. I don't use PC's so I'm not familiar with the software side, but you just need to configure Premeire such that both video and audio are being sent to the camera via firewire. You can then plug a monitor/TV into the VCR to make sure that everything is coming through.

You can use the 170 as a transcoder to move from digital to analog video and vice-versa. You must run it in VCR mode.

Got it
Thx Folks for taking time to respond very much appreciated.
I also found that I had to have the camera switched on before opening prem pro and on the camera menu A/V to DV OUT had to be turned off. Works a treat and works with the VX2000 aswell. Thx again Paul |
