Dark Bars from PD 150?
Guys,
I noticed that when I play back my footage shot today from a mini DV tape onto my television set,I get these dim or dark bars going across the screen, somewhat reminiscent of color bars(but not with any color-to reempasize again, these bars are dark). It looks like there is about four in all,and they faintly show up in the background;what are these bars? Wasn't shooting a critical assignment, just practicing with the camera,so fortunately no harm done. However,it does concern me for future work;is this a result of not white balancing, etc, etc. Thanks... |

Do you know what f-stop you were shooting at? There are some weird aberrations that show up if you are shooting at f-11, or near it. (did you know the camera will shoot at f-16 in auto mode? Don't do it) Always pay attention to the ND messages from the camera, and try to avoid anything above f-6.8. Failing that, is it possible you need to clean your heads?

Are these vertical or horizontal bars?
Have you tried another television set or monitor? Do the bars show up in the viewfinder or LCD?
