AUDIO SETUP for NEWBIE

help guys....

i got some Q's

1. which is better BEACHTEK with or without PHANTOM
POWER?? (ill be using AZDEN SGM2X)

2. what is the use of BEACHTEK w/ PHANTOM POWER if
your shotgun is battery powered??

3. how can i connect a shot gun (XLR) & a wireless lav
(mini) to the beachtek at the same time, my problem is
the wireless system has mini plug while the beachtek has
a 2 XLR inputs, will buying a mini-to-XLR adapter will solve this??

4. which is better a mic powered by battery or phantom powered?

I'd look for an adapter that allowed either XLR or mini inputs. There are some out there.

Phantom power often gives the microphone better performance as compared to a 1.5 VDC battery supply. You have to evaluate the specs on your microphone to tell.

Having a Phantom power option is always better. You just have more options for microphones.
