Problems with Sony CCDs
Articles in USA Today and Wall Street Journal indicating problems with Sony CCDs in many digital cameras and camcorders. (one article mentioned 80,000 + units) - All brands that use a particular Sony CCD imaging chip.
Apparently they fail in some situations where there is high humidity. Notice on Sony site for (VX2000, VX2100, PD150, PD170, PDX10) indicates the Sony will replace/repair these units through Oct 2007. Anyone had this problem? Link for VX2000: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-i...000&news_id=95 |

Evidently cameras from other manufacturers (still and video) are affected as well:
