VX2000/2100 capture & Macrovision ?

Hi,

I've had luck archiving (yes, really, archiving) a couple of VHS tapes
that were protected by Macrovision with my VX2000. I would prefer to backup to miniDV , as I know that these tapes will never be released on DVD.
Also, I would like to record a program from my friend's Tivo into my VX2000
rather than go to VHS.

Does the VX2100 refuse video streams with Macrovision during recording?
What about other Sony gear, such as the FX-1 ?

Thanks.

Yes, you will get a some sort of "copy protect" error message if you try to do this. However, a few years ago I got a cheap box made by Sima at Walmart which let me get around this to a certain extent and copy an out of issue VHS tape.
