Should I upgrade to a VX2100
I currently own a Sony VX2000 (which im very happy with) but I found someone (locally) who is selling a brand new (factory seal) VX2100 w/ warranty at a great price. Im thinking of selling my vx2000 and buy the vx2100, I estimated that it will cost me $200 - $250 for the upgrade.
FYI Im not the original owner of the VX2000, I bought it used 3 months ago but works great, but don't know much of it's history. So is it worh the upgrade? Should I go for it? PS Im using the camera for weddings. Last edited by David Aguilar; September 28th, 2005 at 01:30 AM. |

There is not the slightest reason to upgrade. The 2100 didn't gain a better viewfinder, it doesn't have the smoothly progressive aperture control wheel of the PD170 and the picture quality will be no different from your 2000.
Much better in my view to use the money to buy a back-up cam (hey - what about a VX2100!) or a wide-angle converter or a better camera case or even lots more tape. As a wedding videographer you'll know the peace of mind a second cam is at a wedding, so don't swap, just buy. tom. |
