Audio Monitoring

I was wondering how everyone monitors their audio on their 150/170's? I have been using the headphone jack and find it somewhat noisy as in static sounding, especially when flipping on the phantom power on the 170.

Anyone recommend any good portable mixers to line-in into the 170? And allows for headphone monitoring..?

Pat,
IIRC, early PD170 units had a grounding problem that was fixed in subsequent manufacturing runs. I don't hear excessive noise when monitoring my PD170. You might want to email Sony service with your serial number; if it's one of the early units perhaps they will fix it for you no charge.

Yeah I sent off an email yesterday, but assuming sony and their warranty work on the 150's I don't expect much but the $450/hr fee.. :)

Thanks for the thought..

If you talk with the repair center only, you can expect the fee. If you call the support people (150 7 170's only) they are the ones that can get the charge reduced or removed.

I don't but it is in the papers you got with the camera. Or a call to the service center should get it for you.
