Just wanted to concur on the SS issue with regard to weddings. I also keep it ON, all the time. I tried turning SS off as recommended but every little camera touch got recorded. I've yet to see any strange effects but then again, all camera movement is pretty slow with minimal pans and tilts.

are we talking pal or ntsc?

have ss on all the time, and between static talking heads, through to tracking bronco riders around an arean, i've never seen any lag (pal).

Doesn't matter. OIS is OIS. I haven't been hit by a car yet either but I am aware of the possiblity. When the OIS bites you on a pan, you will know. It just ruins it if you are trying to do something very smooth.
