Turn off standby on VX2100
Hello, Everyone
I'm using my VX2100 for a live event recording to a computer. Does anyone know how to turn off the standby function? In a test situation, I want to record then the camera goes into standby in a few minutes. How can I turn that off? Thanks!

Vx2100
Are you using your fire wire cable to output the signal to the laptop? I remember someone saying that you have to leave the tape out of the camera to prevent it from going into standby mode.

Keeping a VX2100 on
Leave the tape door open IIRC. Cover the opening with cling wrap if the environment is dusty.

Turn off standby on VX2100
Thanks, Everyone
I took the tape out (My fault) to solve the standby problem while recording to a laptop. I have one more question... When recording in live mode, how can I get rid of the flashing tape indicator on the screen? I turned off the demo mode. Is there anything else in the menu I should turn off? BTW...This is my first live event so this is why I have so many questions....Thanks...

The flashing tape indicator does not get fed out via the firewire unless you have gone into the menu and told the VX to feed out all screen indicators.. I always just ignored it.
