Any loss on cheaper video camera playback?

I have a PD170. Is there any loss of quality if I were to use an older Sony TRV10 handycam when importing into the computer or would it be better to imput from the 170?

Thanks

Bob

It is a pure binary transfer so as far as the second camera's transport is in OK shape, the signal quality cannot be changed by a read operation.
