[sony 170]: new camera with bad pixel?
Oh guys
I'm really sad, I just purchased a sony pd170 with mack warranty...starting use and all went fine. Today I do some test with a very low shutter...I'm very happy when I discover woth a shutter of 1/3 I couls record night sky full of stars...wonderful but...Oh my god! ATt shutter speed of 1/3 ther's in the upper of image a green pixel. This (I think it's a bad pixel) is almost invisible at 1/6 and became invisible at 1/12.Obviously this pixel is more visible if I increase the gain. With the gain at 18db you can see it even at 1/50(but only if you see very accuracy). And now?Ok I think I will use only from 1/50 to higher speeds...but my camera is not perfect! shoul be my ccd faulty?Should the pixels increases in the future?Ther's a sort of reset that I can try hoping this solve the problem (for example unplugged the battery for 1 day...) I don't know how the mack work and I would never discover! |

If the camera is very new, return it to the store. If it is beyond their return period, then send it to Sony for repair.

You do mean viewing off tape, and not just in the viewfinder(s)?
