Microphone Input
Does anyone happen to know if the mic input or jack is a stereo jack requiring ring, tip,
sleeve jack or if it is a monoaural jack needing just tip and sleeve? And has anyone used the Samson Mixpad 4 and if so, what did you come out of on the mixer to get into the camera? Thanks much. Jay Roper |

Stereo. I've forgotten which channel is assigned to the tip and ring. Sleeve is the ground. You can select microphone or line level input.
I have not used the mixpad but adapters can be had at Radio Shack for adapting it to the camera.

Tip is left channel on stereo jacks. Some camcorders (Sony and maybe others) have a DC (2.5V) component on the inputs in order to automatically switch between mono and stereo mics. If you want stereo, avoid a DC conduction path between the tip and ground.
