DVCAM playback on my consumer cam?
Hi, just a very quick question...
Does anybody know if I can play MiniDV tapes that have been recorded in DVCAM mode (on a PD170 etc) on a consumer Sony Camcorder (I am thinking of the PC110E). I was told that many Sony DV camcorders are capable of DVCAM playback even if they aren't able to record it. Is this true.....? If anybody can shed some light on the situation it would be much appreciated. Thank you! |

Excellent!! That is such great news. Will I need to set up the properties on my NLE differently to if I was editing standard (Mini) DV, or do I treat DVCAM the same?
Thank you very much! |

In binary terms DVCAM is identical to DV SP. Same one's and zeros, but recorded at higher speed for greater reliability. You don't need to set anything differently as long as your camera or deck can read the DVCAM tape.
