mc protector vcl-hg0758

I read an article having a vx2000 and the vcl-hg0758 lens on it.

By reading the post i discovered that you can take the rubber " donut " off the vcl-hg0758

If i do so is it also possible to take off ( unscrew ) the mc protector lens for cleaning the inner site ?, and can you easily replace the rubber " donut " ?

Second question : Must the vcl-hg0758 directly be srewed on the vx 2110 / 2100, or may there be a uv protection lens for the vx200 / 2100 in between

There is another thread on the subject of removing the front glass. I'd probably not do it but others seem to think that it is OK to do so.

Leaving a filter between the lens and adapter will probably cause some problems. Try it and see what results you get. One caution, unless you know the threads of the filter will hold the adapter, you might want to be very cautious and not stress the mount very much.
