VX2100 Eject button/switch

I have a small crisis at the moment. I purchased a VX2100 on March 24 of this year, and it has been a great camera. I do freelance weather videography as a news stringer and use my camera several times a week.

My problem is that last week, the camera's eject slider switch fell off and is lost for good. I have no idea how this happened as I treat my camera as delicately as an egg. In fact I use a Portabrace cover 90% of the time I am filming. The inner mechanism of the eject switch is extremely delicate and complex, and without the exterior slider holding the parts, the parts inside have fallen into disarray and there is no way to eject the tape.

Here is a photo:

I will need to send this camera to be repaired as it is hopefully under warranty, but I cannot go long without my camera! In the meantime is there a secondary way to eject the tape?

Thanks for any info!
